On Monday 14th July we had a picnic on the lawn at Holywell. Our residents enjoyed sitting out in the garden eating a range of foods but I think they enjoyed the home made cakes the most. Coffee cake, jam & cream sponge, carrot cake, fresh cream meringues, lemon drizzle cake, fairy cakes and butterfly cakes to name but a few. I am surprised the table stood up to the weight of all the food! Still, a little bit (or a lot) of what you fancy never did anyone any harm.

Our ploughman's lunch was a great success and enjoyed by everyone. After a wet morning we all held our breath when the sun started to come out just before kick off. We needn't have worried, the rain held off for the rest of the afternoon and we were able to spend the time in the garden.

It was lovely to see so many relatives and friends supporting us and having fun at the same time. The bouncy castle was enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The buffet lunch tasted as good as it looked so a special thank you to our kitchen staff for all their hard work. The band providing our musical entertainment played for the whole afternoon and I know there were a few aching legs the next day from all the dancing.
